Trouble teen banned from town shops

A teenager who terrorised the town has been given an anti social behaviour order.

Steven Connolly-GibsonSteven Connolly-Gibson, 15, from Meadow Way received an ABSO after six months of swearing at staff, making rude gestures and moving stock around in local shops.

Luton Magistrates Court imposed the ten month order against him last week after a dozen businesses gave statements about his 'disgraceful' behaviour.
The ASBO means Connolly-Gibson is prohibited from entering the town centre area unless accompanied by his parents or the named adult stated on the order.

He must not enter any Leighton Buzzard or Linslade shop outside the town centre unless accompanied by his mother or father
If he uses foul, offensive or racist language in any public place, or threatening behaviour, he will be in breach of the order.
After the case Safer Neighbourhood Sergeant, Chris Bull, said he hoped the order would help Connolly-Gibson moderate his behaviour.
However, he urged anyone who sees him in breach of the ASBO to get in touch.
He said: “We regard ASBOs as a last resort. However, despite constant warnings, this young man’s behaviour continued to be nothing
short of disgraceful and resulted in a stream of complaints from shops and businesses.

“This young man has terrorised businesses and members of the public.  He has attended various social events in Leighton Buzzard causing attention to himself with his abusive behaviour. Shops and retailers in the town can now return to business as usual.
“Thank you to those witnesses for assisting and providing the police in the gathering evidence, to lead to this successful conclusion.”

Anyone who sees Connolly-Gibson in breach of his ASBO can contact Sgt Bull, in confidence, on 01525 473492, the main switchboard on 01234 841212, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
